Host a Fundraising Event
Wow! Thank you for using your time, talent and community connections to fundraise for Covenant House.
Your donation of a percentage (or all) of sales or proceeds from your event will improve the lives of young people who’ve experienced homelessness & trafficking, along with their minor children, with absolute respect, unconditional love and relentless support. Your partnership also helps raise awareness about the issues affecting our youth and the many ways our community can get involved, in addition to helping us make new friends and connect with new supporters.
Please submit a third party fundraising interest form and we will contact you regarding next steps.

Guidelines and Advice
Hygiene items
- We prefer hygiene products in full sizes that our youth can share together – shower gels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Save the travel sizes for your next vacation!
- We prefer shower gel over bar soap – it’s easier to share.
- We need natural hair care! About 80% of our youth are Black, so it’s great to have products they can use.
Clothing
- Keep it light. Please take care not to overpack bags or boxes – our volunteers and staff will thank you!
- Keep it clean. Please launder or clean all items before donating them. This lets us spend more time looking after our youth.
- Keep it fresh. We regret we cannot distribute to our youth clothing with inappropriate messages, including adult themes like drugs, alcohol or violence; or political issues such as candidates or parties.
- Under where? We accept underwear new with tags or in original packaging in all adult sizes and genders. Our boys tend to prefer boxers or boxer briefs.
- We prefer casual clothing. Few of our youth need suits and office wear – save those for charities who need them!
- Our youth are ages 16-22. Fashions and tastes change every generation – if you can’t picture a teenager wearing it, you may want to save it for another charity.
Linens and towels
- We accept linens and towels new with tags or in original packaging. Beds at Covenant House are twin sized.
Items for Young Children and Babies
- The need is greater for items for our teenagers! We appreciate the generosity, but we receive far more items than we need for babies and young children. Please call us first at 504-584-1136 before bringing in items for babies and young children.
- Our youngest residents are ages 5 and under. Items for children ages 5-15 should be donated to another charity – we’re happy to help you locate one.
- Check the date – We regret we cannot accept car seats past their expiration date.
Share A Meal
Sharing a meal with our youth is a fun way to support Covenant House youth. We’ll ask you to prepare a meal for 75 teenagers, either for lunch or dinner. You can choose to either simply drop everything off, or you can stay and serve your delicious meal to our youth.
Contact us at chnoinfo@covenanthouse.org or 504-584-1136 to set up a meal!
