Education
- We assess our residents’ math and reading skills, and offer needs-based tutoring
- We assist our youth with enrollment in high school and college
- We support our college-bound residents as they work towards high school graduation & complete post-secondary applications
- We provide literacy and HiSET prep classes with our community partners
Employment
- We offer job readiness training, job search services, and job placement for our youth, working one-on-one with each resident
- Our volunteers provide plenty of encouragement while assisting our youth with mock interviews and resume writing
- We partner with local job training programs, ensuring our youth have a wide range of employment opportunities
Life Skills
- We emphasize the importance of treating each other with dignity and respect
- Our youth attend financial literacy classes and achieve financial milestones like opening savings accounts
- Our young people learn how to shop for and cook nutritious meals
- Young families can enroll in parenting classes

White Dove Workforce Development Program
What is White Dove?
White Dove is a job readiness / training program for residents of Covenant House.
Our residents learn the hard and soft skills necessary to maintain steady employment while receiving positive mentorship from staff. Youth receive on-the-job training within our Food Service, Housekeeping, and Development departments, learning retail, food service and environmental safety and maintenance skills. The training program lasts 8-12 weeks, and upon completion, supervisors recommend graduating youth to employers.
What Skills do Residents Gain?
Youth learn basic skills for success no matter their future profession. The ten primary soft skills they develop are:
